Our Story

“Sowholistic” started as a blog when I first set out to pursue a career in naturopathic medicine. With a compelling passion for movement, wellness and health, a big part of my identity is to live so (w)holistically and to empower others to do the same — to help sow the seeds of a holistic lifestyle. 

Fast forward a few years, I transitioned from blogging to becoming a licensed naturopathic doctor. I focused my virtual practice and coaching business on eczema because of my own struggles with it and created my program, the Erase Your Eczema System. Since then, I have been helping hundreds of women and children heal their eczema naturally, from the inside-out, without steroid creams!

But through this and my own personal experience, I found there was a lack of options that were actually safe, natural and effective to go alongside the inner healing. I struggled finding options that had the synergistic combination of botanicals and ingredients for soothing sensitive and itchy, dry skin.

Especially, when I became pregnant with my first baby, the search quality non-toxic products was at the forefront. I was on a mission to protect her delicate skin and health as best as possible…which was when I decided to take my expertise and botanical medicine and started making my own herb-infused shea butters, right in our kitchen! 

What started off as a DIY turned into a bigger dream of offering wholesome and luxurious plant-powered personal care products to other families. So, I ran with this desire and started formulating botanical-based products that would enrich, nourish, protect, and revitalize, wholeheartedly believing that this brand and its goods could lead to a deeper appreciation for healthy, holistic living.

And so, just like that, Sowholistic was reborn and became Sowholistic Botanicals! 

This has been a true labour of love and is a proudly Chinese-Canadian mama and naturopathic doctor owned small business!
